What happens after I submit an appeal?

Modified on Fri, 28 Jul, 2023 at 4:29 AM

When an appeal is received, the ticket is immediately placed on hold while we consider the circumstances around the appeal.

We aim to respond to all appeals received online within working hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm) within 7 days.  Appeals received by mail may take longer to process, due to the delay in receiving these.

We take a common-sense approach to appeals, and all appeals go through a two-stage approval process with our specialist appeals adjudicators.  We’ll take into consideration the circumstances around the appeal, and make an individualised judgement based on the supporting evidence provided. Therefore, the greater the detail you can provide, the more likely your appeal will be approved.

If your appeal is successful, you will receive confirmation of the decision and no further action is required on your part.

If your appeal is rejected, you will receive confirmation of the decision outlining your options. You can choose to pay the Parking Charge Notice, or appeal it to an independent appeals service (POPLA).

Do be sure to check your junk mail for the appeal outcome, if you haven't received a response from us within 35 days be sure to reach out to check the status of your appeal - don't assume the PCN has been cancelled.
